FAST = First Aid for Severe Trauma. (Approximately a two hour class) This training will consist of watching power point, listening to some lecture and lots of physical hands on practice. you will learn how to properly and confidently; - Apply pressure and tend to a severely bleeding wound - Pack a wound with basic or hemostatic dressings - Apply a tourniquet if needed. Students will learn how to recognize when, if and which of these skills are required in an emergency and be able to provide the care necessary while waiting for medical professionals to arrive or while en route to receive professional medical care. The knowledge learned in this class is excellent for numerous types of workplace environments and is especially useful for any outdoor adventurous recreational activities that can range from camping and hiking to hunting and fishing. All students who pass this course will receive a Red Cross certificate of completion that is valid for two years.
